Rule 79
Arrangements for establishment and operation of Remote Area Air Service Fund
:
(1) The Government of Nepal may establish a Remote Area Air Service Fund for the purpose of subsidizing some of the amount that will be reduced by flying the low-cost aircrafts determined by the Government of Nepal at airports designated by the Government of Nepal in remote areas where road transport is not available.
(2) If a fund is established according to sub-rule (1), the airlines operating flights with foreign tourists in the domestic flight sector for the tourist fare (dollar fee) set by the Government of Nepal shall deposit the following amount into the said fund
(a) Foreign tourist passenger per mountain flight – at the rate of US$4,
(b) Foreign tourist passengers per flight on other sectors – at the rate of US$2,
(c) At the rate of two percent of the rental amount received from the charter party by chartering helicopters and other aircraft.
(3) The amount as per sub-rule (2) should be deposited within twenty one days from the date of flight. From that date, the airline that collects more than thirty days will be fined ten percent and the airline that does not collect within that date will have its air service operation permit and certificate suspended.
(4) The operation of the fund according to this rule will be done by the Authority under the procedures prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
